Hour of Code Special Events — Australia

  • (Sydney)
Here at General Assembly we have 6 classrooms that will be holding coding classes, drone flying, coding orchestra and talks!
  • (Woolooware)
This will be the initial focus for a weekly morning STEM session for junior students.
  • Code Busters (South Kingsville)
We will open it up to the community and make it a free event. After that we will offer a special rate for participants to continue with Code Busters courses.
  • Hawkesbury Code for Seniors (Lower Portland)
Students will be community members over the age of 45. It is my strong belief that we fail to support the development of members of our society over the age of 25. There is growing evidence that the introduction of novelty and challenge to activities may decrease the probability of someone developing memory issues, and worldwide around 47 million people have Dementia (WHO 2017) so this is an extremely important social issue. Targeting older people will also increase their employability, and hopefully self-esteem when they can interact about Coding with their younger families members.
  • Hume Libraries (Craigieburn) (Craigieburn)
A Large Community Event at one of Craigieburn's largest local building.
  • Onkaparinga Libraries (Seaford)
Our hour of Code event is open to all in our community - young and old - who wish to expand their knowledge. 8th December 3.30pm - 4.30pm
  • The National Gallery of Victoria (Southbank)
As we did last year, the NGV will be publish a series of education, coding resources that highlight works of art as inspiration to get students to experience coding.
